This is a heavy contrast charcoal expressive portrait. She feels immensely weary to me and like she has wounds that have bled for a long time.
That isn’t to say you would see a mark of those wounds in the light of day. Most of us wear our wounds deep inside. We may bleed all over each other with our pain with our words but the wounds and the scars are hidden.
