The Wounded Empath

This piece is done on gray toned paper to let the white charcoal show well and allow the contrast to shine. This particular piece is inspired by the person who gives a lot of their emotional care and consideration to others. So much so that they end up on the very bottom of the list on who they take care of emotion needs. So in the end they are the only ones that are not happy. And in the end, often get their boundaries trashed, get manipulated and taken advantage of while they still bleed out all this emotional energy… caring more for the well-being of others than themselves. Until they are stretched so thin, and they are so tired and almost fading away under the needs of others. And at any time they could do something about it, but they do not want to hurt anyone’s feelings and they want to make sure there is harmony around them, and it is important that others are happy…. Until, one day they realize they too are important. They too have emotional needs.
